Hi there. I recently came back from towing my 7k trailer a few hundred miles and I've had a weird problem ever since.
My truck is non studded, EGR delete with SRL tuning. I went from the 8k tow back to SRL. When I did that, I noticed that my truck is acting like I'm stomping on the gas for a fraction of a second. It leaps forward for just a second. Sometimes it'll do it two or three times in a row, others just once and done. It doesn't seem to matter the speed, it's done it in park (where it almost choked itself out), 25,35,45 mph. It has NOT done it any higher than that.
I check the FICM voltage first. It's between 11.5-13V. It's reading between 47-48.5V on the other readout.
The EBP is in range as well with idle, etc.
The ICP has been kind of all over the place, but always over 580. When's it's surging, I haven't noticed a big drop off on the scangauge for the ICP reading.
It's about due for an oil/fuel filter change, but wanted to toss it out to see if there were any suggestions?
besides your filter changes... While engine running, wiggle ICP harness, since you said ICP readings were a little jumpy, it could be the harness itself. They're notorious for going bad.
Just a shot in the dark but you could try wiggling the wires around above the throttle pedal assembly. Also monitor vRef when it's acting up. Could easily be related to the tunes or a fuel issue etc. But I'm thinking it might be wiring issue. Entirely based on readings from my magic 8 ball lol. Good luck, the intermittent stuff can be a PITA.

Thanks for both the suggestions. I just thought it was a bit weird that it did it after changing from the 8k back to the SRL. I'll pay attention tomorrow when I drive it, but I didn't notice it doing it after it warmed up... isn't that typically FICM related?
Also, sidenote: is it ok to switch from tune to tune without going back to stock first? I actually tried to go back to stock just to see if it was tune related and it failed twice.
Hoki back a few months ago didn't you replace the ICP pig tail? if not theres a grey clip at the connection that will be shorting out ,pull that clip off and look inbetween the three wires for bare, white or even burnt. the Surge and stall was my issue, replaced the pig tail now I have a happy truck, BTW the readings will be wack ICP,ICPV

Nope, I replaced the MAP and EBP sensors a while back, but this is the first go 'round with the ICP. I'll check it though, thanks!
I drove the truck to and from work today and it ran like a raped ape. Absolutely no surging whatsoever. I need to fill up with gas tonight or tomorrow morning and I'll see if it does it on a short, in town trip.
Yea Intermittent will Pizzz you off for sure, mine would do it seems like rough roads and hot temps never did it in the winter, but bad enough the truck will start to stall out, the grey clip fell out in my hand when I was done with the pig tail replacement that's when I seen the result and where it was, there are other spots for wire chaff and in the tech folders are a list of them, good luck bud.

DON'T FILL IT WITH GAS. All tho that might permenantly solve your issue.
If the ICP looks good, something else to check would be the oil temp sensor. I had a 7.3 give me a fit like this one time. The connection was bad the the oil temp sensor and it would surge randomly going down the road. The oil temp would be right and then drop to -40 every now and again. When the temp dropped the engine would surge. Just trying to think outside of the box.
