Yea now how about the rest of the truck....lol JK, it looks good, as always.
Gimme a minute! This disaster has come a LOOOOOOONG way in the past month. It hasn't been running in over a year and hasn't been maintained in who-knows-how-long.
This thing broke my heart tonight. I've been working like a dog trying to get it ready to go to the parade, but just as I was leaving, the thermostat stuck shut and it overheated. I had to take Alice to the parade instead. ....it kinda ticked me off, but at least we had heat for the parade.
I managed to snap these pictures before I left for the parade.
I'm done playing games with this thing. The top end of the engine is coming apart and getting redone.
It was the Ozark parade. ...and yes, I know a few back roads to get it there.
The Christian County Sheriff knew what was going to happen, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I could go to the parade and then home again. No joy riding through Ozark.
The bottom end is tight. It has great oil pressure and doesn't knock or smoke. It was supposed to be a fresh rebuild, but it sat too long. I don't want to spend any more money on this than I have to. (I'm already into it far deeper than I was supposed to be) I'm going to pick out a new cam and get the heads redone. It should be fine after that.
Yeah, this guy clearly didn't do that. I'll pull the heads and see what the cylinders look like. If they look ok, I'll just get the heads done and go from there. I've already replaced/rebuilt everything else, so this should be the last headache.
