Go to their website and download their Fusion software.
Install it, open it and follow the on-screen instructions.

I've noticed that the Red light doesn't come on during regen anymore. I might try a manual regen today.

Once a regen has begun and EGT4 is up to around 1100, the reaction has started. It will burn down to around 1.3 if you just let it idle. This works nearly as well as continuing to drive. I drive a lot of short city trips and so I cut a regen short often.

I did it.....it was scary

If this "service mode cleaning" is exactly like what they do in the shop, I would go home until it was over. So after answering a bunch of yes/no and reading a disclaimer, parking brake on, hood up, in park, small squirril tied next to the tail pipe with blindfold on, i answered the final yes. The cleaning filter message came on at the same time the engine shot up to 2000RPM and stayed there, the engine cooling fan also turned on and kept speeding up and roaring, leaves were blowing everywhere. The #4EGT climbed quickly to 800 and things smelled pretty hot. The kids were crying, the squirrel was singed badly and I just pictured the tranny falling into gear and that thing would take off, so I stopped it by tapping on the brake pedal. It stopped pretty quick. I let it idle awhile to cool down. Soot% went from 2.18 to 1.90 pretty quick. I think this is for really clogged units. Someone who has this feature on thier 6.7 chassis cab should chime in here and let us if this is normal. The nieghbors came out to see what the load roaring was. Anyone else "man" enough to try it? (Just kidding about the squirrel) I wouldnt harm a hair on his head. Maybe your kids wouldn't be scared if you made smores back by the tail pipe while this was running. Mike

I experienced my first regen since the update yesterday. The red R was still there. I remember when I first got my CTS the R would only appear if one of the PIDs I was monitoring was Regen status. I have no idea what changed, but it has worked regardless of what parameters I am monitoring for a long time now.

After the update, I no longer have the red 'R' during a regen.

I tried the manual regeneration yesterday. That's a lot of noise.
I stopped it at 2.0 soot then let my high idle finish the rest which took it down to 1.27.
That's a normal level when driving.

I still wish we could command while driving.
For example, we know it will begin five miles from home based on a route driven often so run it 20 miles from home.
This, as with any tool, has it's place so I'm glad I have it but I don't plan on going through that procedure too often.

You are man kper05, you let it go longer than I did. It was too loud, but it got the job done and was free, can't beat free. Too bad we couldn't turn down the RPM to 1500 and fan at 3/4. I also wish we could do it on the fly. The display kept referencing service mode cleaning which is probably based on the Ford diagnostics commanded from their software in the shop for partially plugged filters. Vince, you ever done a service mode cleaning in the shop on a 6.7. What do think? Mike

I wouldn't go that far. I didn't let it run much longer.
I didn't open the hood (I know it said to) so I chickened out.
EGT1 never went above 650°F. It is usually between that to over 700 when driving during a regen.
EGT4 after the countdown was close to 1,200.
Highest I've hit while towing during a regen was over 900 on EGT1. Since nothing melted then I figure sustained 600 is good.

I had pulled in the driveway with 2.65 (96% dpf load) on the screen so curiosity got the best of me and had to do it.

Any more input on this update? Apparently Edge customer support claims Manual Regeneration does not work on 2012 SuperDuty's yet several folks have reported initiating a Manual Regeneration on this thread. So far no one has reported running a Manual Regeneration to completion.

Manual Regeration

I have completed two manual regenerations to completion on a 2012 F250. It is noisy but nice to have the ability. I gained the manual regeneration after the Fusion upgrade and also lost the red indicator during a normal active regeneration. I now have a blue indicator with an x in the power box.

You have a blue indicator and x during normal regen or manual regen?

I don't see any indicator during normal regen.

This loss of red "R" must be a 2012 thing! It looks like all the guys commenting on it have 2012 in their signature. My job 1 2011 still has the mighty red R!
