I was able to update mine as well and it had the special update for cold weather. Keeping my fingers crossed it will boot in cold weather.
Also I did have to update the fusion software because it was outdated.
It now shows the manual regen under diagnostics screen.
My build date is 4/10.
I haven't completed all the questions but it looks like it will work. I'll run tomorrow since I'm very close 2.48 to a normal regen which starts around 2.68.
I hope the temp problem didn't get introduced to mine.
I never had the issue, even into the single digits (which is rare down here).
I did turn on the alerts today for the first time.
Shut the truck off and it began squawking that boost was 0. No kidding...
I'll probably turn those off. Ha.
I think you can turn individual warnings off, but I agree that the "squawking" at shutdown is annoying! I was playing around with the maintenance warnings yesterday. I set a few service reminders so I'll wait and see how they work.
Just a quick update. It was 42 degrees this morning and I did not have any issues with the CTS not wanting to start up. Usually at this temperature it would just squeal and go blank, so I'm guessing that the cold weather patch is part of the update!
It took temps lower then that for mine not to start up ..Strange...Im gonna hold off till I know for sure cause the cold weather thing was a real pita...

Same here.
Per my email request, Edge tech support flagged my unit for updating, so I was able to do so tonight. Manual regen now shows up in the diagnostics menu.
I'm hoping the cold weather fix in this update is better than the last one. While it did help, it seemed to just lower the failure point from 25 degrees to about 5 degrees.
I wonder if I was still on the BETA firmware....? I can't remember now.
When I purchased mine, Edge still wasn't ready with a 2011 production release so they attached the beta release to my serial.
Then again, it hasn't been single digits in two years down here.
I hope it comes back with the regen option.
Note to other don't let your PC/Laptop go to sleep during the update.
Correct. These are firmware updates so you don't want to interrupt the process in any way.
Even with a desktop, best to have it on a UPS so a power failure doesn't cause the same issue.
Looking back, probably the main reason I haven't updated mine in 2 years is the first update I did ended in disaster. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with an Edge employee that was clueless and thought I would have to send it back to them, but after going off on somebody else the next day, they were able to get it unlocked and updated without returning it. In my case there was no screen saver, power failure or any other interruption. The stupid thing just locked up and that was it.
I don't know how often I will actually use the manual regen, but it is certainly a feature that we have all asked for. Now we just need to convince them to give us a few more parameters to monitor.
I haven't seen anybody talking about this so please forgive me if it has already been discussed. On a whim yesterday I updated my CTS which probably hasn't been updated in more than 18 months. I was pleasantly surprised that the option of a manual regen is now available!
I played with it some yesterday and it looks like it works. The engine temperature must be at a certain level just like a normal automatic regen cycle and the truck has to be in park for this to work. Edge makes you answer about 8 questions before it activates the regen. Once it is activated, the CTS has its own dedicated screen format for manual regen. Idle speed goes up to 2000 rpm and exhaust temperature starts to climb. I wasn't in need of regen nor did I care to waste a bunch of fuel to satisfy my curiosity so I stopped the process.
I was disappointed that Edge still hasn't added any more PIDs for us to view. I would really like to have rail pressure available. Oh well, I guess I will just settle for what I do have access to for now.
forgive me but,
how do you update? I 've had mine for years and havn't updated? is it by sc card or do i need a cable connected to the pc. i don't remember if i have a cable or not
thanks
figured would see if an updates avail for mine. downloaded the fusion software from edge website, ran it and asked for my unit to be plgged into the pc, which I did. watched various modules load and restart when done. I plugged her back into the truck and viola, I have manual regen option, something all models should have. Now to go play with it
