Coolant???
Hey guys,,, I spend all my time on the 6.0 section,,, but I got a question for you all. No owners manual,,, I have a 97, and a 2002 4.6 that are in need of coolant service. Can the prestone coolant be used?? And do you know the total system capacity?? I'm doin distilled flushes, then top off with straight. Thanks guys. I'm also replacing the tstats.

The "exteneded life" stuff is normally somewhat yellow and is good. The original "green" is the standard, but should be changed out every couple years. I use the yellow like you have. I drain the radiator and blow some air thru the heater hose or overflow tank to get more out of the engine block. I normally can not get more than about 10 quarts back into the system. I have the 5.4 motor. If you buy 2 gallons of antifreeze and two gallons of distilled water, you will have some left over. You cant get everything out of the bloock.
