Ignition cylinder removal help!
I'm new to the forum and could use a little help. I drive a 1992 explorer and I recently lost my keys (never drinking again). Luckily I have a key that will open the doors but not work the ignition. I'm not paying 130 for a locksmith to re-key my truck and I don't mind if I have 2 keys. And the ford dealership only re-keys vehicles 10 years old or less.
So my plan is to purchase a new lock cylinder and install it. My issue here is that it must be in the ON position to be removed.
I need help with a strategy to essentially break the lock cylinder without harming anything else.
Thanks for your help!
Also sorry if this issue has been posted already. It's not easy to navigate on my iPhone.
