Hey everybody! I decided to register after lurking for awhile. I just purchased an 81 F-100 Flareside with a 300, 3 speed/OD. It needs a little work, but it will be a nice learning experience for my son.
Hi Jeff and welcome aboard. A flareside, there is a truck you don't see a lot of nowadays, you can't beat learning about a vehicle and what makes em work like some of the old ones, so I think your son will enjoy. You'd be amazed how many people can't even change their oil nowadays.
That will be a good project truck for him to learn on and the old trucks were built like tanks too. Lots of good stuff here at FTE and if you look through the forums for your vehicle year you may even encounter some other flareside owners.
Have a look thru the forums, get a feel for the place and jump in where you can... enjoy your time at FTE!
Hi and welcome Jeff, nice to hear about your father and son truck project.
