So I installed a new carb and It runs MUCH better however it still requires you to crank it a while after it has been sitting and occasionaly sits back through carb Timing is correct, new plugs. Gas could be a little old. Once she warms up starts right up and runs pretty good other than a little hesitation at start. Revs up real nice and clean with a good idle.
New choke working good, why so hard to start after sitting
Occasional backfire through carb with flames one cold start
Small hesitation when just taking off after idle.
What carb did you install? if an Edelbrock they have relatively small float bowls and with modern fuel blends it doesn't take very long for the gas to evaporate and you end up with dry bowls when it comes time to start up.
I installed a small electric pump wired to a toggle on the dash, I use it to prime the carb after the truck's sat for an extended period of time, it eliminates the "crank, crank, crank" routine, saving the battery and starter.
