Hi, No he did not but he advised that might be the problem but before I go and spend $60 to $80 on a YOKE Plus his install fee, I thought I would ask. Thanks for the response (hiball3985)

Hi, Yes it does and you can find the F100 but the F250 is nearly impossible for that year. You see if you look at my truck in the photo album which is titled "WORK IN PROGRESS" I have the Emblem but the F250 part is an ad on that goes into a grove with two post that snaps in to the Emblem and that is what is hard to find. Thanks (numberdummy) for the picture of the emblem and it is correct the 1958 one, just real hard to find th F250 part that goes on that emblem. Hey can you tell me how to add a picture to my name thier like all you guys have on yours so I can put my Truck?

Hi, (Artic Y Block) OK I will definately look into that before I go and spend Money on the YOKE. Thanks for the Information. My Mechanic advises my truck is easy to work on and I agree but maybe he doesn't know too much about these older Trucks. Great Guy I think I can Trust him but want to be sure before I break the Bank. Thanks again.

F250 (F100/F350) not available separately, only furnished with the emblem.

Smile Emblem

Hi, (numberdummy) Yeah I know it is furnished together but I'm hoping I find the F250 insert that goes on the Emblem. Actually I have Found on EBAY the whole Emblem like mine on the Truck but of course the insert is missing F250 F100 F350 etc. well maybe one day I'll stumble on it so my Truck can be recognized when other great Folks are looking at it and asking questions. Thanks !!

One key in finding things like emblems for our trucks on ebay is a wide search strategy. Since many sellers really do not know much about what they are selling, being too exact can cause you to miss many items. For your example, a 58 F250 emblem, also look under 57, 59, and 60. (I bought a decent set of 59 F250 hood emblems that were listed as 60.) I also see some 57 to 60 hood side emblems showing up under searches for fenders. (never seen a 57 F100 fender emblem, but that is what a hood side emblem was listed as.) It takes time, patience, and some luck.

Smile Emblems

Hi, (3414) You know I really did not think of that, instead of searching only under 1958 using other years close to it. I'm gonna start doing that Maybe I get Lucky and Yes it does require patience, I've been at it since March and no Luck. But I will try that, Thanks !!! for the info.

Dependent on condition. Does it need boring, crank turned, valve job, heads planed? A gasket set is under two hundred. But you should put in a new oil pump and timing set. I like to add new fuel pump and water pump if older engine with unknown history! There were a couple of guys talking about just this a couple days ago around here but I can't remember what their solution was. Seems like they were fond of some place in Oregon or something.

Hi, Thanks for the information and I will take that advice because I do not know the history of the engine. I've been on the net and I see that they have gasket sets, and even a whole rebuilt kit for this engine with timing chain and all the above, although a little pricey but at least they have it, as far as the oil pump LMC TRUCK has it so that is good. I wish I knew how to do it myself but something this big I will leave in the hands of the profesional and just pull out my wallet LOL!!! OK Thanks again I appreciate the info, Have a Great Day !!!!

Personally, I try to avoid LMC as all they do is buy and resell, thus there normal higher prices and longer lead times.

Here's onr link http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...rder=Ascending

And here's another:Ford 292 1955-1964 Engine kit, cam kit and re-ring kit | Northern Auto Parts

I have dealt with both, fine.

By the way, if you have room to tear down your own engine you can't learn any younger. It is a big job consisting of many little jobs. Tons of resources out there, very rewarding expirience to see one tore down and then reassembled and roaring back to life!

Smile Rebuild

Hi, Thanks for the links, I will check them out, LMC has had alot of stuff i've needed in the past but definatly open to new ideas and site's, and as far as the rebuild I do Have the room and a little knowledge but I'm afraid to bite off more than I can chew with a rebuild. Yes, I think it would be AWESOME to do it myself, take it apart and then back together then bring it back to life. BUT again apprehensive on doing it, but Hey you never know I might get inspired and do it we'll see. Thank you for the information I appreciate it. Have a Great Day !!!

Smile PCV & Crankcase Breather on 292 Y Block

Hi, Can anyone tell me if you can have a PCV Valve & a Crankcase Breather together on my 1958 Ford F250 292 Y Block 4.8L engine. Meaning I could not find a good crankcase breather for my Y Block for some time so I decided to install a PCV Valve from my Valve cover to my vacume on the top of my manifold. I did this to see if I can relieve some pressure from the engine and stop oil from coming out of my breather which it did by 3/4's not all though. Now I have found and purchased a real good Crankcase Breather with filter and all, and I'm not sure if I can have both???? I don't know if I should remove the PCV and put new valve covers so I can install the Crankcase breather or can I have Both so I don't have to change what I did. ANY Help will be appreciated !!! Thanks

Having both shouldn't cause a problem.
