Check out the Tech Folder, there is enough reading in there to keep you busy for a long time! https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...ch-folder.html

<p>Well new info. in an earlier post the question was asked is there an external oil cooler. Answer, seems to be a factory installed cooler to the front side of the evaporator right behind the front tag. Could this be the reason for a 50* lower oil temp. or do I still need to figure on changing out the EOT sensor. Again my thanks to all.</p>

So npccpartsman might be on to something, stopped by the Zone and the t-stats rated at 190* no EOT sensor available but they do carry the EWT sensor. Now if I follow these post right it sounds like the two are interchangeable, right? Is there any other reason for the roughly 50* difference or go ahead and start changing out parts?
From all my information, they are the same part# 3C3Z10884AA

Strange they didn't show that in their files.

I may have missed this, but, what are you using for gauges? Maybe an issue there.

I'm going to go back and read through this.

I'm using the ScanGaugeII. Great info gatherer just wished it would identify the codes.

Ok. Please overlooked my lack of knowledge. I'm trying to learn on the fly and with the help that is so graciously offered here I am becoming 6.0 literate. The cooler is located to the front, as previously posted, the lines return back to the driver's side of the engine. Didn't follow them to the end as they are not for the transmission and the cooler was too large to be for the power steering so I figured oil cooler and quit following the lines. Major no, no assuming something rather than confirming it.

You would be surprised how large the PS cooler is.
Also the lines feed the hydroboost system for the power assist
brakes.

Ok, my next question would be, which Xgauge did you enter for EOT?

Did you double check your entering when you saw these temp differences?

x2....I made that mistake when I setup my scanguageII. I was just one letter of on one of the # and I had a 40* lower oil temp than water so I would check toughs real close...it's quite easy to miss one the letter F for instants looks just like E when the indicator line is still under it during setup.

Here we go, double checked code info entered into the ScanGaugeII and it was correct. No simple fix there, oh well. amdriven2liv I'm not sure of your question but I think you might be asking the actual code entered. The code I used was 07E0221310 046245130610 3010 00090005F05F. Checked temps again same 50* spread. Yahiko tried to follow the lines and too much stuff in the way for my quick look but defiantly factory installed and looks like it goes to the p/s pump, so no external oil cooler to account for the degree difference. Side note found water in fuel sensor unplugged while checking the cooling lines. Don't even want to think about why right now. Oil pressure good, engine not running hot guess I'll just drive it. Thanks for the help everyone and when I get a few extra funds a EOT sensor is first on the list.

This is the one I have. The MTH is different. It's Binary and maybe one of our math guys can see if they're different. IIRC I had the same one you're using before my last sensor problem and I changed to this one because I was having a problem. Cold soak the ECT and EOT read virtually identical (EOT shows tenths and ECT doesn't) but usually within .1 or .2 of each other.

EOT 07E0221310 046245130610 3010 00090005F060 EOT Degrees F

56Fordfella, you have an incorrect X-gauge code, the one posted by npccpartsman is correct. Here is the link to the Scangauge X-codes for Ford.
