Power Seat issues/questions

Hello
Just picked up my 2nd Ex this one being a 03 6.0L and the driver's power seat doesn't work neither does the power pedals. This wouldn't normally be a problem since I am the only one driving it but the seat is all the way forward and I am 6'4". The passenger seat works and the driver's heated seat button work but neither buttom or **** for movement. I don't have the owners manual and wanted to find out which fuse should I check. Could it be the motor or something else? What other Ford model seats are a direct bolt it with no modifications (SD?)

At least up through 2012 SuperDuty, according to this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post11778350

The dealership says it need a seat module which they quote $500 installed. Now I am contemplating just getting another take out seat.

I also need a new seat module, I remember reading somewhere, maybe here that whether new, used or whole new seat with it, they need to be programmed by the dealer. Now I don't remember if that is just because our EX has memory seat positioning or not. For giggles try reclining the seat back all the way back for a few seconds and then try moving the seat. Read it, tried it, worked, sometimes it does, other times I have to pull all the plugs under the seat for a while.
Ignore if you've found a blown fuse.

Did the dealer already look into the module or did they just give you a quote over the phone?

Try disconnecting all the wires to the module, it is a little tight down there. If you can't, remove the seat and then do so. After a few minutes reconnect and see if it resets.

I had a similar issue three weeks ago. Research indicated the power seat module, which a new one needs to be reprogrammed by Ford. I ended up buying a new module from Tousley Ford and went to my dealership to have it installed/reprogrammed. The dealership advised that my module was fine once they reconnected everything. I haven't had any issue since.

So in an effort to save you money try this first.

Sorry for the late response but the truck was in the shop for months dealing with engine issues and when it came out I had a credit with Ford so I had them repair the seat. I haven't read the receipt but I am almost sure it was the module. The first time the seat work but no memory or heat and after I took it back complaining of no heat they replaced it again (said the previous module was wrong one) now all works fine. Thanks for all the assistance.
