My wife recently switched from a Toyota to a 2013 F-150 FX4. It has my ford touch but lacks navigation. After several searches I cannot find out if we can add nav to the factory system or need to replace the whole system. Can someone point us in the right direction? Thank you in advance for your help!
O'h... You're much better off with a Garmin or other brand. The radio provides only Voice Commands without Directional Display other than four or five caricatures on the Speedometer and Display Board.
Whitetmw, what do you mean? The MyFordTouch has better mapping and directions than any factory or aftermarket nav system I've ever owned, and I've owned probably 25 from $99 jobs to $4500 systems.
You sure you're not referring to the home screen where you only see the compass and directional arrows versus when you actually hit the map tab and see the full screen map? Even in major cities you get 3D views of buildings and added features like that. I've used garmins, and I can't imagine how it'd be preferred over the MFT Nav, so I'm assuming the limited directional indicators you're referring to means you might just be thinking the home screen view versus the actual map screen.

Hi Cold One,
Although I cannot advise on any aftermarket solutions, I can confirm that the MyFord Touch system cannot be "upgraded" to include navigation. Your dealership would be the best point of contact to discuss any other options available for your vehicle.
One more question. What is the optional sd card navigation that is available through the dealer?
Cold One,
The SD card used with the MyFord Touch system is where the navigation data is stored. All the maps, addresses, and business information the system uses is housed on this device.
