Popped a freeze plug, how to put back in

I got a truck last fall that sat all winter and i came to find out that it had water in it, well it popped a freeze plug on the drivers side right near the motor mount. It doesnt look like the freeze plugs ive seen on gas motors, basically just a flat piece of steel it looks like. My question is can i just use some RTV and kinda pry it into place or am i going to have to pull the motor to fix the stupid thing? Thanks for the help

These are special plugs that require a tool to be installed properly. Correct plugs can be obtained from ford or ih.

and if it got cold enough to pop a freeze plug out, i would bet there was damage done to the block too.

It is there so they can get the sand out when the block is cast. The 1 in 10000 times they pop out and save a block is just a side effect.
