Replace lifter, new cam too?

Hey, I will try and keep it short. I have an '84 4x4 F-150 with a 300, straight pipes with glass pack. The engine was just rebuilt and it is still knocking. I have tracked things down and almost %100 sure that it is a bad lifter, either bad, or collapsed. My question is, if I just replace the bad lifter, do I need to replace the cam too? As far as the "rebuild", it was just new bearings, rings, pushrods and seals, the top half wasnt really touched. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

Replace lifter, new cam too?

Lifters can be replaced by themselves, as long as there isn't any galling or pitting on the cam, and the base of the old lifter isn't worn concave. It's only when the cam is replaced that the lifters need to be replaced as well.
