300 i6 off road
Thinking of getting a bronco or f150 with a 300 i6 in it. I like the simplicity/reliability of the engine. I was curious how these handle off road usage with bigger tires? I'm probably only going up to a 36 and figured with proper gearing it should do ok. I know for rocks people are starting to use them, but mud and snow having more HP for the wheel spin is needed. I've looked on youtube but can only find a few videos of people with them.

The low end torque is awesome for off roading. I use mine quite regularly for it. Should do well with larger tires too as long as it's geared right. Mud might be a different story though since often that comes down to RPMs, which are not its greatest strength. I have seen some videos of 300s doing pretty well in the mud though.

There's a guy over on the fordsix.com board that uses his 300 powered truck to mud race. I think his username is Broncitis. But his is a built engine.
