My 1970 work truck

My 1970 F350 flatbed dump and I had a great morning today! I know a lot of you guys like to see our trucks used as they were meant to be used... for work!

A family friend had an old sign rebuilt and painted (I painted the raised letters the lighter color) that belonged to their grandfather and his meat packing plant and store. I hauled the sign in my 1970 F350 to the family's hunting lodge way up in the mountains which has been in the family for 100 years. The old truck with the 360 handled the hills well. It was a beautiful morning in North Central PA. I saw a lot of deer and a big flock of turkeys along the way.

My truck and I helped hang it on the side of a shed.

Here are some pics:

hey abe, good to see the ol' girl doing what she does best.

And I'm diggin' the old school "Radio Dispatched" hood paint. It fits the bill.

Yes, I like that, too. Kids today have no idea what that means. I can see the doors had been repainted. It would have been neat to see if the doors had lettered. It must have been owned by a construction company or a delivery company like a lumber yard...

But it is for hire!! This baby has to pay for itself. Yearly registration in PA is $198.

I was only kiddin' but $198.00 makes sence. When I moved away from Ohio in 1979 I think trucks were 50 some dollars.

This is an F350 tonner. My 54 F100 registration is only $48.

In Kansas we can put an antique tag on anything older then 35 years. From then on we don't pay registration just a $17.50 flat Tax per year

In PA you can get classic tags or antique tags for any vehicle older than 25 years. But that limits how much you use your truck. I just looked into it for my 54 F100. You can only drive it for cruises, shows parades, etc. And occasional use, which is defined as once a week. Now that I have a work truck, my 70 F350, I might do it for my 54, if I ever get it running right....
