You'll need something to monitor the PCM. Scan Gauge II, Dash Boss, Edge Insight are the more economical ones. More professional would be Auto Enginuity but costs a bit more. They plug into the OBDII port and let YOU see what the PCM is seeing. Very important in diagnosing problems on a 6.0.

Pull the rubber hose from the MAP sensor and intake and check the hose and intake nipple for blockage.

Okay, perhaps I'm being misunderstood. I made the suggestion of disconnecting the rubber hose at the intake manifold (BUT WITH THE OTHER END STILL CONNECTED TO THE MAP SENSOR) and blowing into it, while observing the live data reading for MAP psi (or MGP psi), also with your Scan Gauge or whatever electronti gizmo you have that can read the MAP psi data with. The purpose of this test, was to see if the data changes or responds to you blowing into the hose, while the ignition is in the RUN position, and while watching the reading. If it changes or responds as you're blowing into it, it likely means the MAP sensor is functioning (provided it reads the same, or close to EBP_A and BARO psi readings at key-on/engine-off). Hopefully I've clarified things a little.

I checked the hose and it is clear. When I removed it from the intake manifold and noticed the port on top there was clogged a little so I cleared it out with a paper clip. Put it all back together and drove it, I got on the gas and noticed a lot of black smoke that came out of the tailpipe, and it seemed to run better. Question, my check engine light is still on. Does it need to be cleared or will it go away on its own

If all the reasons for it coming on are solved they it will reset it self
after so many drive cycles.
