well after 4 hours of working on ONE bolt i am beyond tired. ive hit this thing with heat, vibration, even a mini, hold it in your hand, jackhammer and it will not budge... i guess i got somewhere though, i got the nut off of it lol it unfortunately didnt take the bolt with it though.

had this same issue

I ended up getting mine out with alot of time and curse words. One was just too stubborn and I had to take my 4" grinder and cut off wheel and slice into the manifold toward the bolt. This allowed me to slightly spread the ear and the bolt came right out. Afterward I installed the uppies and with new bolt in place I took my wire welder out. Vice grips in place to "clamp" the ear somewhat closed around the bolt I zapped it back with a small bead. 6 months and it looks the same today as it did then. Just a thought if it comes to a last resort. I had messed with mine for 3 days solid before I cut my manifold.

Good luck

I did make sure to un-do the batteries before welding on the rig.

Hey thanks, that's reassuring, I'm not the only one. Unfortunately I don't have a welder lol I'm going to see if I can get the manifold hot red and hopefully that bolt will come out with a little persuasion if not ill probably have it taken to a shop down the road and have em do the rest. I can't have the truck down much longer

Mitch reading your post, with my bellowed uppies on the way, I've been spraying everything I have in the bolts! I'm using liquid wrench, PB blaster, sea foam product and looking for Kroil! I really hope it's not the same for me.

Good luck and keep us posted! I did buy some black and silver VHT paint for the exhaust side, compressor cover and uppies...

Mitch just researching broken stud removal and noticed many suggest after heating up the bolt, use candle wax to help lube up the threads. The wax is sucked in to the heated area.

Just a suggestion!

Good to know! The rust on mine appears to be from just the excessive heat at the manifold. Nevertheless, I'm not taking chances, I need this to be a bolt off/ bolt on project for me.

well today was just not a good day. My dad thought he was helping me out by moving (yes he started it) the truck to a dry spot in your driveway so i could work on it when i got up, well the turbos out and nothings plugging the holes on the pedestal, and you can all guess what happened... please, please please tell me that nothing couldve got damaged from this?? its very low on oil, it hasnt been started since cause its so low. we managed to push the 8000lb monster back into its orignal spot after cleaning up the massive oil spill. but please reassure me that nothing can get broken from this happening....

Nothing should be broken. Just clean up and fill it back up with oil and continue what you were doing!
