Although that would be really nice, I don't think it's probably worth the work to try and make the 6.4 intake manifold work for myself. lol I think at this time I'm gonna get the OEM metal cold side pipe, Riffraff diesel couplers, S&B intake (going to try and push 500WHP). Intercoolers are too expensive for these trucks, not to mention the factory one has been said to work very well. I've thought about getting the aftermarket intercooler pipes and the intake inlet elbow, but they don't seem to be worth the money.
Bumping this for some possible more answers. Figured there's gotta be a few more performance guys in here.
I have an intake elbow but didn't notice any difference and for what you're planning on doing to your truck I really don't think an intercooler or larger pipes would help you with a stock turbo. If you plan on going with a larger turbo and injectors then I'd say you'd probably want that help.
I hate to say it or point it out, but the 6.0 FTE forum is fairly closed minded to new or out of the box ideas.

Powerstroke.org is full of quite a few idiots though as well. FTE has very few of those.

I figured the intake elbow was one of those bling upgrades. Usually if an upgrade is worth it you can punch it into Google search and **** comes up. I put in intercooler upgrade for 6.0 and all it talks about is 7.3 guys using a 6.0 intercooler. I do for sure want the hard cold side pipe and the upgrade CAC boots, just wasn't sure if the aftermarket pipes or intercooler would really be worth it. I do eventually plan on a Powermax or something like that, but nothing more. Stock injectors can only go so far.

Dieselstop seems to be major blow Fest.
A custom sheet metal intake manifold wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate, using the dual alternator brackets to use the lower alternator plus a big, free flowing intercooler elbow.
So, I finally found my answer to some of these questions. Lilpooh states in a few places that the stock intercooler pipes and elbow are not the restriction. The head ports and intake are the first places that would need work before you'd see gains from bigger intercooler pipes or intake elbow. Since I plan on not doing anything with the intake or heads then I'll pass on those items. Also, the aftermarket intercoolers are kind of the same thing. They're only really recommended if you're pushing past 45 PSI as the stock intercooler will not handle pressures past that for long. Besides that there's very little gain.
The only reason I can see for the aftermarket elbow is for the
added ports for water/methanol injection and a boost pressure
gauge. Also you could even pass on that with some weld in bungs.
That is if you are a good welder or know one.

That's the only reason I've seen people buy the elbows. Even still, 200 dollars for one of those is ridiculous. I simply drilled and tapped my factory one without a problem for my boost gauge and will do the same for the water/methanol injection.
