So, at this point it's time to get a head start on this as well. As far as I know there's only a few things you can really do here. I know it's recommended to stick with the factory air filter setup as it's good up to 500 HP. Also, the CCV mod is highly recommended as well (I've already done this). I already took the turbo apart and cleaned it and the intake manifold out as well. I'm planning on getting the metal cold side pipe for the intercooler and getting a set of upgraded CAC boots. Are those aftermarket intake manifold inlets worth it? Would it be worth it to get an upgraded intercooler or piping? Thanks guys!
Aftermarket intake manifold inlets? The elbow? Ive heard people say the turbo spools faster but i dont really think its worth the money...
Id say stick with your plan of the cold side metal pipe and some nice Riffraff diesel boots to go with it.
Yea, the elbow. I had no problem tapping mine for the boost gauge, so it's not an issue of ports. The aftermarket one looks cool, but are they really worth the money? I've also seen aftermarket CAC pipes as well. Wondering if they are worth it either. The factory pipes are pretty good sized. I really can't imagine them being a restriction unless you have a decently bigger turbo.
I for sure want the metal cold side pipe and upgraded CAC boots without a doubt.

Never heard of this. Is it really worth it? What's all involved?
I'm almost thinking of getting an aftermarket air cleaner simply because I do plan to push the 500 HP mark here soon and will be getting a Powermax or larger. I could use a new air filter and that would be the best time, if any, to get an aftermarket air cleaner.
Don't know if this is true or not but I have heard that going to an aftermarket intercooler and pipes can help with egts. Does anyone know if this is true. If so how much does it help, is it worth the money.

Pipes won't make much if any difference, but an intercooler can help when towing.
Hi Cody, what did you do for your CCV?-
Delete? Reroute? Homemade Kit? Bought a Kit?
Thanks.
I simply made a road draft tube using supplies from Ace Hardware. I think I used like 1 1/4" braided tubing, some hose clamps, and a few zip ties. Blocked off the port on the intake with a few large PCV caps and hose clamps. Works perfect. Had the same setup on my S4 and it worked great as well.

Pipes won't do much for EGT's but the intercooler would and only for prolonged pulling (towing). Instead of doing an aftermarket intercooler I'll probably just do water/methanol injection as it will give a bigger boost than the intercooler would and at half the price. Intercoolers for these trucks are pretty spendy. The factory one is actually fairly efficient from what I've read.
