I can't say that I have even seen an 04-08 have rust there yet. Let alone an 09 and newer truck. I have seen a few 04-08's that had rust forming at the rear of the bed. That is at the bottom of the rear cross member at the tailgate area. And 1 04 that had rust at the left rear cab corner at the bottom. But for the most part from what I have seen is that as long as these trucks are fairly well taken care of, their not rusting. 97-03 now that's a different story. Those trucks are just about dissolving.
Just applied Fluid Film inside of my cab rockers as well as inside all the cab and bed stringers and the door cavities. I know on a daily driver that rust is inevitable but with all the issues some earlier years had I figure a couple hours every year or two and a few bucks in product will go a long way to preventing problems.

I can tell you about the 97-03 rusting issues. My driver side rocker has been shot for a few years, the bed has a hole behind each wheel well in the floor that are about 5" round, several holes in the bed that has an arc that perfectly fits the spare tire from underneath, tailgate... no comment.
