Clutch Questions ...
Today it has gotten much worse and fails every time I depress the pedal. Now when it sticks it actually (completely on it's own) pulls itself all the way down to the floor. I know that at sometime someone put the wrong fluid in the system because the rubber diaphragm inside the master cylinder is swollen to like three times its normal size. Yesterday I tried to flush the system with Dot 3 and replaced the diaphragm with a aftermarket one that is almost flat (made for brake system). What role does this diaphragm play in the hydraulic system? Could this be the source of my problem? Do you have to buy a whole master cylinder to get one? The auto parts store and the dealer both told me you do and like I said we are on a incredibly tight budget right now ... in between jobs.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks!

Have you tried a pick-and-pull to get the rubber diaphragm?
