If so, could you tell me what you use? What do you like about it? What do you dislike about it? Have you ever had to get it serviced? Have you ever had to contact Lowrance for help on your product?
I know these might sound like strange questions, but I'm researching some information for a possible job. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

I've got an Eagle Fishfinder, which i believe is Lowrance's lower line. I've had it for about 5 years now.
I called them a few years back for help mounting it in a new boat. they were good and helped me with getting the transducer mounted correctly. I have it set up to shoot throught the bottom of the boat, just ahead of a step in the hull.
It's works great, giving me readings over 200 feet and at 45 mph. Very impressive for a cheap unit.
The Hummingbird that I had before was junk. After a year it began losing sensitivity.

Wow, sounds like the Lowrance gps was a better deal in that intance. I agree about the Magellan gps units. I've used one of the smaller handheld units and was not impressed with it's slow tracking and shorter battery life.
Keep the responses coming. This is good stuff. Thanks!

Im not knocking the garmin it was actually better for what I was doing. They have the same quality but the lowrance is not the best for deep woods stuff that I was using the garmin for. I do prefer garmin by a lot. They are worth the money you spend, and despite the BS about running down batteries, as long as you know how to use it, you won't get lost and therefore should not need 30,000 batteries with you. Also you should know at least a few landmarks while traveling.
