I installed the Viper 5906 on mine.

Lots of good ones out. I received the Viper for a Xmas gift.

I really like the remote start especially when I'm in elk camp and it's really cold out and I cant start the truck and not even get out of bed.

I heard Clifford is really good, so I called car toys and they said their base unit is $250 installed. That is only a one way unit. Do I need a two way? How are they to install? I've done all the work on my truck so I'm fairly competent.

Need a 2way. No. However I like mine. If I am in a building th remote will notify you if it started or will beep to verify the alarm is set. Also the remote notifies you if the alarm is going off incase you cannot hear it inside.
