for some reason, I was thinking it was illegal to put remote start on a manual transmission vehicle for that exact reason.

you can have them, but they need interlocks. i really wish i had remote start..... i just drive my truck cold, which is hard on it

Some of the folks over on the SD forum have remotes on diesels with stick trannys. Like Matt said, you need to put a switch on it that only allows it to start in neutral with the remote.

I know but I don't like the idea of anyone but me with the key potentially being able to start my truck so easily Auto or manual.

I'll take keys of steel over keys of silicon.
