Auto dimming mirrors

Are any of these mirrors you guys are swapping out auto dimming? The rear view in my ex dims. I have not seen that option in any of the newer mirror that some of you have been swapping out. Thanks!

I've seen them for other vehicles (can't remember which ones), but I haven't seen it for anything that would direct fit an Excursion.

Wouldn't that be a safety issue? I would never use those for the outer mirrors

I'm not sure what you mean. I figure they're like the rearview mirror and only dim when there's a difference in the light between the front and the back. Otherwise they are clear.

My old 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee had an auto dimming driver side mirror. Turned a greenish color. I'm pretty sure the '95 Jeep I had before that did the same. What I haven't seen is one on both driver and passenger side.

My old 2001 caddi STS had ext and rear view auto dimming and heated mirrors. I loved them. I was just wondering if they were an option for the newer model mirrors.

I don't think the SD's ever got auto dimming tow mirrors. As for other cars, they were only put on the drivers side in the US because you would never get that kind of blinding glare from the pass. Side. On right hand drive cars you would get the auto dimming mirror on the right side and normal on the left. So if anyone wants to do away with the convex mirror in the right side, just order a RHD spec right side mirror.
