What's does it show when it's below 32F?

When the SG first came out it wasn't programmable, CarlD/DesertDog being local to LL asked if that could be added. Don't know what he does for a living but he worked with them on that and responsible for much of the Ford stuff.

My Scan Gauge 2 seems to work fine with the CANSF codes.

show me a transmission fluid temperature is supported thru your OBII connection- I don't know of anyone anywhere who states the 08-09 Escape, Tribute, Marineer, even has such a reading thru the OBII connection

ps- I too have installed a transmission cooler
temperature I get of the fluid isn't what you brag about

Like I said above, the CANSF codes seem to do the trick... don't know what else to tell you. Wptski appears to have also had some luck with the LL scangauge.

Darn and I am fresh out of stickers for you!

I don't know where you are getting the bragging part from, just curious to see what other people are getting.

Want to share with the rest of us what your getting or should we just keep wasting each other's bandwidth?

For our resident non-believer. Here's a link to the thread at CleanMPG about coding for the SG-II and ATF temperature from 2009: Code for 2009 Ford Escape transmission temperature - CleanMPG Forums where the above mentioned CarlD comes up with the answer.

NAA- I'll let the Hot Dog speak of the majic

there is no transmission fluid temperature sensor on either my 08 or 09-
please explain how a Scanner reading from the OBII computer connection pulls out of thin air- the temperature of the fluid circulating thru the transaxle in either of mine

Sorry- maybe it's a spirit thing- you know it's out there but nobody but the spiritual believers can get a grasp-

I know the temperature of my fluid- know what it reads at proper operating temperature after full warm up-

you stated a number- you have any facts backed up by a real temperature gauge with a proper sensor that your ATF touches

I've kind of had a reason for knowing ATF fluid temp at road speeds for some 30 years- different trans coolers have neither shown they are better or worse than the factory installed-

Unless I am missing something here according to TSB 94-12-09, the CD4E has a transmission temperature sensor...

Performance Probe

... I fail to see why they would remove it from one application to the next.

According to this the TFT sensor is built into the main solenoid block of the trans.

And thanks for actually answering my original question (you know the whole purpose of this thread)... oh wait no, you didn't... again.

How does a dealer read ATF temperature then?
