I know this has to have been discussed to the end, but I can't find it in the excursion forums.
I'm looking for a good location for a small powered sub woofer. I've seen the stealth box but they're too expensive and I couldn't find one if I did decide to spend that much.
I've seen ppl installing in the rear swing doors and that's my favorite location, but I'd prefer much less work. Running wires is one thing, but since I've sold all my tools I don't really have the resources.
I have the stock speakers and a good head unit. ( kenwood dnx9990hd )
Pretty much stuck with the steathbox, unless you can find a shop to build a custom enclosure that fits inside the spare, but with the labor to customize the mount for the spare and the fiberglass box, you might as well spend the money on a stealthbox.

I haven't even been able to find one. Hopefully they'll be less than the $700 they wanted for them a few years back.

Here is mine. I already had a speaker box, I made a pattern with some plywood and put the box inside it. The door is just plastic just cut out what you need to.
They stole the panel with the speaker off the door, it was unlocked in my driveway. We live in a neighborhood that has been safe for the 15 years we have been there, we know everyone so I never locked the doors. I do now haha.

We live in a fairly safe area too, and never used to pay much attention to whether we locked the cars until a recent rash of vehicle break-ins. Fortunately, all they got from us was a backpack -- that we used for a diaper bag. I wish I could have seen their face(s) when they opened that up!

That's my favorite location. Did you just cut a hole in your panel or did you cut out a whole new panel out of MDF or plywood?
New one out of MDF, someone stole my other one haha. I originally just cut a hole and put in a speaker, but it didn't sound as good as this sealed box.
