I need a working transfer case for my 97 Explorer. It has the dash switch with the Auto, 4Hi and 4Lo.
Are the correct years for compatibility 95, 96, and 97? I think it was in 98 that they deleted one of the t-case speed sensors, but I'm hoping someone can confirm all this for me.
I have the opportunity to buy a good used one off a 96.
I can't speak from direct experience, but here's what I would do. Run down to the local library and get your hands on a Hollander Interchange. It's usually found in the reference section and can't be checked out (at least where I live). Maybe search their catalog first to save a trip in case they don't have it. Or, see if your local junkyard has a copy and if they will tell you what will interchange. Sorry, that's all I can suggest.
