Transfer Case

I have 95' Explorer, 4.0 V6, auto, 4wd; probably going to need a transfer case before long; will the 96 and 97 model fit also. I was going to look for one at wrecking yard with a warranty. I know ford went to the 4wd auto mode on later models but mine has a 2wd selection on the switch. Thanks for any help.

Do a search on the Internet for one first, some places exchanged rebuilt transfer cases for less then savage yard prices.

I have had to replace the small gear on end of the sensor that fits in the trasfer case a couple times and had one mechanic tell me I will have to go in and do some repair inside; so I thought it would be just as simple to replace the whole thing.
