I understand their concerns about it for sure, but come on man! Everywhere I've been you can have it as dark as you want on the back and rear sides, it's just the front sides and Windshield they care about. Police pull up behind and don't see **** anyway. It's a stupid law and does zero good. Besides it's not like the crazy ******* that would shoot a cop won't do it anyway through the door and you still wouldn't see it coming. Not to mention he doesn't give a **** about your tint laws anyway. Roll 2 deep or use loudspeaker and tell him to roll them down or something, why should the rest of us law abiding citizens have to suffer with hot cars because one wack job with tint shot a cop.
You're "locking eyes" with people through the windshield, right? Not through the back of their head? I don't believe the OP's ticket was for a tinted windshield.
Yes and no. Usually the windshield but like I said if I'm running code 3 I'm crossing in front of people who have green lights I want to see their eyes.

Sometimes you dont have an option to have more than one person, sometimes its a disabled vehicle. You obviously have not done it or you would know that the front does make a difference. You think it has only happened once? Theres a reason the law is in place. I wont argue anymore since you are convinced it does zero good. No matter what I or anyone else says, you wont change your mind even if others have experience you dont.

I'm sure it's never happened on a non tinted vehicle huh? I'm sure it's happened more than once but I'm also sure it's not happening every day.
I guess it depends on where you are, might be a legitimate concern if you are patrolling in an inner city ghetto or something but for 95% of the rest of America it's not very likely at all to happen. You would have a better chance of winning the Lotto.
There is no need to argue over the law, OP i can understand where your coming from as i can understand where the others are coming from too. It is your truck so you can do as you please. Just understand that all decisions have consequences my personal opinion is if you get another ticket i would switch to legal tint mainly because it will end up costing you more paying off tickets than it would to get new tint put on. I can understand how its frustrating when you paid to get tint put on and now they are requesting you to get it removed when you love the tint. I personally love tint myself but police around me hound people for tint so i will not get anything darker than the legal amount. That is my advice and go about it as you please lets just not all fight over this.

Yea I agree, and it just illustrates my point that its a stupid law. It's not stopping anyone from tinting, it's just a revenue generator.
Ha ha. It may once a certain amount of revenue has been generated.
I don't like tint, but if I did there is NO WAY I would risk a ticket for it. Appearance means nothing to me, but greenbacks do.
Haha, true enough. Depend where you live I guess. Some places enforce it pretty hard and others don't really care about it unless they get bored now and then and feel like doing some paperwork, lol!
