Because I really don't know much about the history of my truck it is like a treasure map

Can anyone decode this?
RD
In any event, you found gold as far as info on the truck.
- Body paint color: 8A is Dark Chamois Metallic
- Body accent color: 5G is Dark Carmel Metallic
- Tutone deluxe: I don't see what D means
- Trim Scheme: C means the seat material was cloth and vinyl
- Trim Color: T means Nutmeg color
- Trim Seat: F means bucket seats up front in the Super Cab
- Floor Mats or Carpet: Don't know what VL means
- Regional District: 46 shows it was in the Indianapolis district
- Export: The fact that this was left blank suggests that the truck was intended for export.
- Packages Conv: No idea what C means
- Visibility Group: Probably the cab clearance lights on the roof
- Handling: The H may mean it has sway bars as it doesn't have quad shocks, which is shown in Row H, positions 39 & 40
- Electrical: The designations in the instrumentation positions shows it not only has the full instruments instead of idiot lights, but it also has a tach
- Radio: Don't know which radio F was
- Digital Clock: It does have that option
- Aluminum Wheels: I'd guess the H in this position means it came with the optional aluminum wheels frequently called "bullet holes" over here. Mine have 10 holes in them and simulated rivets although they are fully forged into one piece.
- Engine: Z indicates you have a 400 CI engine (6.6L) w/a 2bbl carb
- Transmission: K indicates a C6 auto, a 3 speed workhorse
- Throttle Kicker: It does have a device that uses a solenoid to hold the throttle open at idle and then, when you turn the key off, drops the throttle completely closed to kill the engine. They had some problems with the engines not wanting to die due to hot spots in the cylinders igniting the fuel, so went to that.
- Axle Code: 43 indicates a Dana axle with a 4.10:1 ratio
Hope that helps. If there is something you have a specific question about, don't hesitate to ask.
The seller gave me some aluminium rims with the truck as an extra... 8 holes in it.
Now I have the white steel ones on the truck. I like the classic look but maybe I will change them next spring.
My truck has no clearance lights (maybe I'll change that because I like them...have to check with the german law... that's not an easy thing, because I want them in amber and it's only allowed in white...)
Everything else is spot on.
You mentioned the Indianapolis district. Came the order for this truck from this district?
Once again...thanks a lot
RD

Yes, the order should have come from the Indianapolis district, although I don't know the borders of that district so can't tell you exactly where in the US that is. But, my experience with US vehicles in other countries says they were usually brought in by some American serviceman, so I'd guess that it was ordered from somewhere close to a US base near Indianapolis. Grissom Air Force Base is near Indianapolis so that would be my guess.
As for the clearance lights, I guess the Visibility Group includes something else. Maybe someone else will know?
On the wheels, I'll bet it came with the aluminium (there's the Brit spelling) on it and, for some reason, the original owner wanted the steel ones. Did you get 4 aluminum wheels? If not, maybe he ruined one and put steel wheels on to make everything match.
I'm not very good at languages. I was born and raised in Germany. My mother on the other hand was born in Germany, but emigrated with her parents to Vancouver, Canada shortly after she was born.
Came back to Germany when she was 18. Married my father (german) and emigrated back to Canada with my brother and dad nearly 20 years ago. So, there is my strong connection with the north american continent.
Back to the tires
He gave me a full set of tires on the alu rims... So, I guess I'm lucky

Anyway, you are lucky to have the additional set of tires. In my opinion the aluminum wheels look good on these trucks.
And, by the way, the engine you have, which is what I'm going to build, responds well to a bit of upgrading like a cam and a 4bbl carb. Several of us have been discussing that in Dad's Truck Build thread.
