Sdetweil keep us informed on your mpg while on your trip. I've got a 2011 DRW and just bought a 5er that's about 14k loaded. I'm interested in what your mpg will be. Btw I'm averaging about 14 mpg empty with about 75%highway between 70-75 mph.

Will do. Seems best empty mileage is at 68mph. 1600-1700 rpm.

My truck is set for english in that pic, which I'm pretty sure would be American?
If I was talking Canadian I would be using l/100km, eh. Which the best I've seen was 10l/100, but I was driving pretty easy.
Agree, no different then an American truck selecting English or Metric.
I've shown 21.1mpg over a three hour trip with cruise at 112km/hr, LBF at 3 on Hot. Never calculated hand that trip. But the truck is still at 9600km's, barely starting to break in so I'm thinking I have room for improvement.

Has your LBF changes been noticeable?
I think just deleting gains about 1+ mpg, running on a lower lbf and on hot will gain another 2ish.
I'm doing a trip this weekend, truck is on 5 right now, I'm gonna switch it to 1 for the return and see the difference.
I'd be surprised if adjusting the LBF to 1 (from 5) will matter much on the highway. I could see a little gain in city driving, but not on a long drive.

Try it out sometime, be good to know what results others get too. I know from a 3 to 5 is slightly noticeable, makes the truck more peppy too. There is almost no smoke on a 3, 5 blows smoke like there's no tomorrow, definitely uses more fuel.
I've been running a 5 most of the summer, something about hot weather and the windows down makes me like to run the truck a little harder lol
Is it possible to set the Low Fuel Warning number to a custom value? I just bought a 2013 platnum f350 with a 6.5 ft box and it only has a 26 gallon tank which is disappointing to say the least coming from my 2010 f150 6.5 box with a 36 gallon tank. A service tank purchase is in my near future for sure. Anyways I noticed my Low Fuel warning doesnt come on until i only have 30 miles left to empty, and since I live in a very rural area where the nearest town is sometimes 50 miles away this can be a problem. I was also pretty impressed with the mileage, only having about 1000 miles on it myself my average is around 15.5, which might seem low to you guys but im from North Dakota where the speed limit is 65 on all roads and 75 on interstates and everyone drives 5-10 over and there is always a 40 mph headwind you have to fight. Plus the new factor of the awesome diesel acceleration so you might imagine ive been romping on it a bit, love that 6.7 power, lol! I reset it a few times and was just playing around and it was getting 23-24 on flat land no wind at 55-58mph and ive gotten 18-20 flat land no wind going 65-70 which is better than my 5.4L f150 got. But like you say, its a huge truck and I didnt buy it for getting good mileage. Ive heard running a tuner and removing emissions crap boosts the mileage a little also.
I get an average of usually around 18 or so, mixed back road and highway. When hand calculated it ends up being 1-1.5 mpg lower though. The "gallons used" says its not using near as much as the needle indicates. Still perfectly happy though; my wife's subaru isn't getting much better, all these dang ethanol gas stations down here! ):
I just made my first road trip from Long Island to NC, just under 500 miles. I used 37 gallons of diesel and the computer said I averaged 13.6 mpg. Hand calculated on the two fill ups i calculated just over 13. I was pulling a 23ft boat combined weight of about 5500 lbs. my speed was around 65-70, and i am surprised i didnt get a littler better mileage. Aside from that she pulled like a dream. Unfortunately the range of this truck is pathetic. I have the F250 CC 6 3/4 with the E3.55". 300 mile range is unaccapetable, perhaps a titan tank will need to be installed.

You know what would give a 10-20% increase in my truck???
Give me back my ECM calibration that got "updated" when the one time I forgot to tell the service advisor - do not update!
I am just completing a second of two long 1500 mile tows this week with my toy hauler.
Two years ago, same trips, routes loads etc I averaged 10.5 to 12.5 depending on the speed I chose to drive at.
This year 9.4-9.5 no matter how I drive. The only difference is when the truck was in for service I forgot to tell the service advisor I do not want the trans flash. Had no issues with my trans at the time. I had heard rumors that it affected mileage and apparently the rumor holds a lot of water.
So Crsytal - bring that back to your engineers. There is something that can obviously be done to correct the fuel economy.
Never thought my 2500HD DMax working as hard as it did pulling this trailer, would have gotten 20% better mileage.
