Hello. My 08, 6.4 had some hesitation in acceleration. After driving did go away. Had one time killed out, but restarted and ran fine. It continued to exibit the hesitation, or bogging down. Took it to local Ford dealer that has diesel repair. No codes. Checked fuel filter, fresh diesel fuel, checked other items Ford suggested. Still no codes. Tessted hp pump, checked out fine. They 3 or 4 more things to check. One last thing, may pull hp pump. If has rust my extended warranty wouldn't cover. Appropriately $6000. If this is the case would this truck be worth it. About 22, 000 mi. Thanks
I'm with Senix here...fuel pumps would not be my first choice. First thing i would do is drive the vehicle in "info" mode and see if there is a corolation between the hesitation and regen....it is possible that a DPF related component is on its way out etc....
The fact that it runs is a good thing here, its now a matter of seeing what operational system is giving you the problem then going from there...
