Drove the truck to the store yesterday and on my way the check engine came on and the truck started to stall and lose power. I got to the store and back home but the truck ran very poorly. The fuel pump and fuel filter were changed a few months back (done at a local ford dealer but was before I purchased the truck). I am guessing that neither of those are the issue. I am guessing it could be the FPDM or the fuel rail pressure sensor? I bought a new fuel filter thinking that maybe since I put some fuel cleaner in the truck that it stirred something up and gummed up the filter. It is also the cheapest option so I figured I would start there. My question is the FPDM is it the same as the f150 where you lower the spare tire and it is on the cross member? or is it somewhere else? I am guessing that this is my issue since when I search for that code almost everything that comes up mentions the FPDM. I just want to make sure I am on the right track.

Just wanted to update I replaced the fuel filter and checked the FPDM. FPDM looked brand new and fuel filter was fine but replaced anyway. Since the fuel pump was replaced within the last 6 months I called ford. I was able to call the dealership who did the work and they faxed me the service records. The original pump was replaced at 143K in February of 15 and then a second pump was put in in may of 15 as well as the filter was replaced and the FPDM was replaced. Any guesses as to what issue I am having? Could it really be another pump? could it be the fuel rail pressure sensor or do I have a wiring problem somewhere? I have it scheduled to go to the dealership tomorrow and if it is the pump they are going to cover it under ford parts warranty.

Truck is at the dealership now getting diagnosed and it looks like its another fuel pump. Luckily I was able to get the paperwork from the last 2 it is going to be covered under Ford's parts warranty of 2 years unlimited mileage. I called Ford and they said the warranty does not say that is has to be to the original owner so as long as I have the paperwork they will cover the part so I am very thankful for that and I have to say that ford customer service was great to deal with. I knew that the pump had been replaced when I bought the truck and I was suspicious as to if there was an issue when I bought it because the gas gauge wasn't working correctly so I guess I am going to get that problem fixed at the same time since they are replacing the whole thing sending unit and all. I will update with results.

Got the truck back today and it is running great again when my brother pulled everything apart he said the last dealer did not put the pump in right which caused the pump to go bad and the sending unit to not work properly as well. He also said there were 2 pinched wires on top of the tank so all is fixed and truck is running great again.
