Has anyone installed the AMP Research bed step2 on thier truck? If so any clearance problems? Do you like them? How high is the step from the ground when extended? Got pictures?
Thanks Gigger, that one looks good. I am looking at the one that mounts to the side of the bed forward of the wheel wells (bed step2).
Thanks for the time to post the pictures!
Oooh, Nice. I had the one Gigger posted on my 150 and loved it, didnt get the factory tailgate step on my f150 lariat because i didnt think i would ever use it and regretted it but loved the amp! Got the factory tailgate on my f350 platinum but I miss the side bed steps I had factory on my 150 lariat, this looks like just the ticket and I think I will be purchasing this for the 350! Both it and the side steps tended to freeze up and become unreliable in the winter after driving through snow/slush but a trip to the car wash or overnight in a heated garage fixed them right up. If its anything like the amp tailgate step, and it looks identical, it should work great. I dont foresee it hanging any lower than the stock running boards if you have those so there really shouldnt be any issues unless you do some serious off roading on crazy terrain or something. Should work better than great on a street truck. Probably wouldnt get them if you drive through mud puddles up the the frame though, haha! I was hoping there was side steps for the super dutys, glad i found this thread! Thanks for the info.
I am sure I will be getting a set for each side because I just dropped my truck off at the body shop to have them fix the scratches my kids put in the bed last camping trip, they use the side of the truck for a slide after getting into the cooler.
Told wife that its cheaper to buy two of these then to get the truck repainted every time we go camping...
If I had them now, I would have given them to the body shop today and had them painted adobe to match the accent.
