2012 Lariat Ultimate Lockpick and Nav silent

I just purchased this truck and have a long trip ahead of me..

we drove to Houston, and nav worked fine.. announced turns no problem.
selected Home for the return route, and it handles it fine, but announcements are gone.. they are enabled (according to the settings)..

also, it let me input address etc while in gear. do I have a Lockpick installed?

Sam

well, answer my own questions..
1. The audio must be on for Nav audio to work (uck, hardly ever listen to radio/music).
so will have to set it to jukebox to have nav, and no music.. (I do have a usb stick full of music on the second USB at the glovebox).

2. Lockpick.. says to hold Phone button for 3 seconds.. no response.. so I guess not.

Then how are you able to enter addresses while moving? Chances are you are not able to, but that is not what you typed anyway. You typed while in gear...I read while moving. Two different things...stupid brain playing tricks on me. I must be getting old or stupid(er).

On mine, some times it takes more like 5-6 seconds of holding the phone button for the lockpick menu to kick in.

There is a volume setting for the voice announcements on the nav system. If you want to really check for Lock Pick, play a DVD and drive around!

I was able to nav while driving this weekend as well. No lockpick installed.

I think there are a few things you cannot do but not sure.

you can enter a previous destination or from your contacts, but not enter an address from scratch in mine (which I believe is standard in the industry for stock nav systems)
