Installed the Amp bed Extender today. I have the 5ht wheel prep so I am posting some pictures and my opinion. Overall good product for the price. When rotating the bed extender and can slip out of the groove. Not thrilled about that.
I used the no drill mount. Worked great. There are 2 straps that are supposed to be used to latch into the tailgate when open. That has nearly no chance of working.
Ended up with 2 extra latches that were no were in the instructions. Will look it up later to see what the point is for them.
The trailer wiring harness is completely accessible.
Thanks for putting this out there.....I'm in the same boat....I bought the AMP Research as well and I was worried it wouldn't work with the trailer connections. Your pictures clearly show there's no problem.
My truck arrives later this week and I've got the bed extender waiting to go. I'm getting Rhino lining, then putting the bed extender in place.
Out of curiousity....I didn't get the optional no-drill bracket. So what holds it in place if you don't drill?
Basically 2 anchors either side that goes into the existing holes and then just tighten them down. Little pricey but actually seems strong and well built.
