replace carpet or paint

So I'll be getting a work truck soon (also an f250 sd) and was thinking about "restoring" my truck. I have a 99 F250 SD Supercab, 2wd, white with blue interior. My question is really more asking for advice, but would you guys replace the carpet or just paint the floors? I'm thinking of a black scheme for the truck, as the headliner and seats need to be redone, trim needs to be repainted, etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly, I got an XL F250 to replace my excursion because it was too hard to keep the tan carpet and tan leather clean!

Mine as well. Right now, it's my only transportation. I work in a dirty job (demolition) so the interior is dusty, dirty, and pretty much beat. The drivers seat is starting to tear, the headliner is coming off, and the carpets are filthy. Once my company gives me a truck, though, I'll only use mine for personal, or I might sell it for something smaller (since I'll have a truck). Either way I want to spruce it up. There are a few small dents, scratches, and chips that will be addressed, but the interior needs the most work. I had a wrangler that I pulled tge carpet out of because I didn't want to try to clean it, but I never painted it, so I have no experience with the interior work and durability.

I found a complete truck when I was looking to replace the rubber floors in an old 00 F350, I was able to buy everything for around 300.00. Check over Craigslist and E bay, I have seen them pop up from time to time.

I also tend to beat the **** out of my truck. 3500 lbs of steel in the bed is a common occurrence. The v10 runs strong, but there are squeaks from (im guessing) the suspension even on flat roads and a thump at acceleration. I took the DS apart and greased the splines, but I'm still getting the thump. Any ideas on that stuff? I did just get new tires put on and they (supposedly) replaced the driver side ball joints.

If you wanted durability inside you could buy some roll on bed liner and use that on the floors. It would be easy to clean and would trap dirt or scratch.

I am another person who purposely bought an XL for the Vinyl Floors/Seats. When I take it mudding I can just grab a wet rag and clean the interior in a few minutes. Much better than trying to scrub mud out of the carpet/seats.

Ha, ice had mine for about 3 years and I think I vacuumed it about a month after I got it and that was it. I'll clean out tge junk occasionally but its got 3 years of dirt on the dash. The last time the Guage cluster was cleaned was when my brother borrowed it 2 years ago. Terrible, I know.
