Question monroe quick strut

I just recently purchased a set of these on E-bay. I received them on Saturday # 171361. The ones I got had what looked like a white rubber block on top and a black boot below I think they sent the wrong set because looking at all the pictures the ones I ordered looks like the stock. Does any one know if there were any changes to the monroe quick struts? I am going to send these back I have a leveling kit on my truck now and I don't think that rubber boot sticking out would look that good. Just frustrated was going to install them tomorrow but can't now. They would of been going on my 2006 F-150 fx4.

That's the right strut you need. I installed the same ones a while back. The black boot is actually supposed to cover up the white bump stop on top, it's a pita to get it where it belongs
Here's mine

Thank you for your help looks like you have the leveling kit on yours as well. I will try and get the boot to cover up the bump stop if it's possible. I only have 65,000 miles on my truck I replaced the back shocks it made such a difference I figured if I changed out the front maybe it would help there as well. Again thank you for replying back to me.

I replaced my stock struts on my 04 2WD. After having them on for a couple years, I am strongly considering putting the stock ones back on. Made the nose stick up in the air whenever any type of load is put in the bed. Would I buy them again, no. Just replace the shock absorber assy with a strut compressor. Unless you have a broken spring, I wouldn't use these again.

Very frustrated. Took my strut off and the new ones would not fit. The top bolts would not line back up had to put the old one back on and put it back together. Will be sending the monroe struts back. any one else have that problem?

Yep, that happened to me. Had to take them apart and rotate the top plate for mine to line up. Should have returned them but it was late at night when I was installing them and needed the truck to get to work the next day.
