identifying my rear end
I know DANA 30 was used for front axles on 4X4 but who would put one ona a 2wd f100?
I can get to the tag on the diff and it says it was made in Argentina - making me think DANA 30 again.
Can someone swap the DIfferencial and keep the same wheel hubs?
Ford used the Dana 44 for the front ends on 4WD trucks.
Most 1/2 ton trucks came with the Ford 9" but some Fords came from the factory with a Dana 44 rear.
The 02J axle code stands for (02) Ford 9" non-locking 3.00 ratio (J) w/ power steering.

The truck has many things changed since it was manufactured - ie. 302 instead of the six - just trying to see if the axle/frame was even the original.
How many wheel studs? Most D60's are full floaters and have 8 studs. If the rear is a D44 or a Ford 9" and it's from a truck, not a car, it would have a 5 x 5 1/2 bolt patern.
I tried to cross that number over to something in the parts book and came up with zip.
On the truck's door mounted warranty plate, does it say "made in USA or Canada" or does it say something else (Argentina)?
