If this were true, why do the part numbers for the transmission mounted NSS's reflect 1978?
Ford numbers mean "bupkis" as you well know (or should know) by now...

I've seen many late 77's with column mounted NSS....it's not exactly something a PO would transplant.

Read post 8 again. Where did I say that 1977's did not have a column mounted NSS?

Qwist on a bicycle, I just posted a pic of 1974/77 steering column where NSS is visible for all to see.

This is what I said:

1967/77: NSS located on steering column

1978/79: NSS located on transmission.

That means nothing in the real world....

Perhaps it was the parts guys behind the counter that were *********s all these years....

...and the customer was correct? just a thought.

Where were you when these trucks were new? I was the back (shop) parts counterman at Crenshaw Motors Ford and I know what's correct and what ain't.

Y'all are looking at trucks that are over 35 years old, have had multiple owners, so who knows what parts may have been swapped.

And you said you've seen many late 77's with steering column NSS and I agreed with you, as that's correct, but it's not correct for 1978/79.

You always go back and edit your post to correct yourself and try to make others look like fools, I've noticed this habit with you in the past, you've done it repeatedly....

You may intimidate others on this forum but to me you're nothing but a has been parts guy who's bitter in his old age....

Any doofus on this forum can go buy a HiPo 73/79 CD and look-up PartsVoice.com....and they too can become a NumberDummy JR. (without the bitterness).

BS!

Uh huh, yeah right. The only thing that p!sses me off is, after helping 1000's of members (including yourself) locate obsolete parts, this is the thanks I get.
I didn't edit anything except in post 8 to list the quantity of D0TZ-7B097-B's available.

The ONLY reason I chimed into this thread is because the OP FAILED to list the year of his truck in post 1.

His "About Me" profile says 1979, so it would not have a NSS located on the steering column.

Post 11: The OP finally got around to listing the year, it's a 1977.

I think you're fudging the truth Bill... case in point....

Uh huh, yeah right. The only thing that p!sses me off is, after helping 1000's of members (including yourself) locate obsolete parts, this is the thanks I get.

You added that statement later (not to mention the more important parts) so yea, play the sympathy card...you'll get sycophants to follow you....but I know who you really are...

Good to hear, he's helped me as well, and I respect him for that..... but no one here walks on water.....anyone that wants to fork over $25 to HiPo parts.com can be a "parts guru" too......it's not voodoo.....sometimes the emperor has no clothes.
