Air pump

My 302 is carburated with points. is there any way to utilize the air pump on the breather. If not does anyone know what size serpentine belt to use with out air pump. Its a 92 engine with air. XLT Lariat 4x4 if that matters.

The air pump serves no purpose without the stock cats just delete it. If your engine has the belt tensioner mounted on the top center you can use a shorter belt but if it's down on the side you need to replace the air pump with an idler pulley.

Conan got a question, the air pump just pumps air into the cat correct? If so would it be in basic operation like a compressor? Which would mean it could be used to fill air tanks. Am I correct in this? Just wanted to ask for some knowledge, thanks

No it's not a compressor it's more analogous to a small water pump so I seriously doubt it would be of any use, I bet it would have trouble building more than a few pounds positive pressure before leaking back through the pump. That said I have not heard of anybody experimenting with it to see just what it can do.
