First Off:
I have a 2000 Ford F250 7.3 Liter Diesel
I was driving down the road yesterday and the engine just shut down. I pulled off the side of the road, restarted and was able to drive about a block and the engine shut down again. It will idle forever but as soon as I start driving i get a block and then the same thing. Any suggestion or anybody else have this problem? I was stuck on the side of the road about 2 in the morning just and road side assistance was totally worthless
Sounds like your Cam Position Sensor. If it's under warranty, get it to the dealer and they'll fix it. Do a search on here for CMP or CPS and you'll find more than enough information on how to fix it. Once you get it fixed, not a bad idea to buy another one and keep it handy. Also, you can buy the part from International for much cheaper than your dealer. I would recommend reading about fixing it on this site and doing it yourself if you're out of warranty.
