Faster with less throttle
I was towing for the first time after a long break last week. When I merged onto interstate, I noticed that I had only given 3/4 or less throttle and the SOTP feeling was that the truck was accelerating faster than if I would have give WOT.
I also noticed the same phenom on my 98 F150 with the 5.4.
Seems odd. Happens loaded or unloaded.
Anybody else notice this? I dont have dyno or track times to back anything up, just a feeling.

Faster with less throttle
This is just a guess, but if you haven't done anything to improve the intake/exhaust on your truck, it's possible that 3/4 throttle is the most efficient position your airflow will support. By giving it more throttle, you're trying to increase the flow of fuel, but there isn't enough air volume to improve driveability.
