another electrical problem
I've been busy and haven't been on lately, that also means truck is runnin' good, thanks to this forum. Well it has been, but now every time it rains (we've had 20-30 inches in last 60 days) the fasten seatbelt light which is always on, even tho it's completely disconnected, goes off, the alternator surges and the batteries start charging at 16.5 volts. WTF, I suk at running down shorts and as usual this one has me stumped. Where should I start looking? please use small words, cuz I ain't thet smart with the wiring stuff

If you have the separate voltage regulator check the wiring around it and check all the grounds not just the ones at the battery’s ( Take them loose and clean the mating surfaces and if possible use a conductive grease when you reattach the wires I know it is a pain to do but it is surprising how many odd electrical problems show up because a ground some where has become corroded or worked loose. 
) since this only happens when it is raining look for water dripping or puddled in or around wiring or components.
