Truck looks great. Only thing I'd be concerned about is that there may still be mice remains/feces inside between the exterior metal and interior metal. I mean they were inside the headliner. I'd guess that they'd have to go through there to get up in the liner or they'd go in once they were already up in the headliner. I'm super jealous of your floor though. My SC looked like this
That was after I cleaned it up considerably already. The worst part is that where I live is technically a desert. It's only rusted because the PO left it parked in her sprinklers for 5 years and so the matting never dried out. (don't ask how the water got in).
When I took the headliner out, I poured BLEACH up between the roof and pillars then did a complete flush...so I think all the poop is gone.....if not, it's been disinfected!
I have completely checked out the seats..nada. So no, at this time I am not recovering them.
That peel and seal works GREAT. I noticed a DRASTIC reduction of noise.... But I still have to do door seals.
That's nice. Have you ever had Dynamat? Just wondering if it's worth the risk. I do have a 460 that screams and I don't want to do it twice. How thick is the stuff?
Never had Dynamat. I will have to look and see how thick it is. I know some have put 2 layers down. I only used one layer and nothing else on top of that other than the jute padding that came on the carpet. There is room for improvement Im sure, but for me, I am happy.
I will lend some insight into the deadener questions. Asphalt based products have a tendency to come loose in hot conditions and smell like hot asphalt on those days. Dynamite is a great material, but there are brands that are superior for less money. There is Murder Mat, Hush Mat, and Sound Deadener Showdown to name a few. Google them and see which you like best. There are some reputable dealers online such as Sound Solutions Audio and Woofers Ect.com that sell deadener are bargain prices. For the Sound Deadener Showdown products, just google Sound Deadener Showdown. They have everything from CDL Tiles to peel and stick type products that are butyl rubber backed instead of asphalt.
Just wanted to add for anyone interested, you don't have to totally cover every panel or the floor to get great results. I ordered a smaller dynamat kit(like a door kit rather than a floor kit) for a 95 PSD that I had and cut the dynamat into 2inch strips and applied them to the floor running crossway door to door spaced 2 inches apart. It is a good way to get the results you're after and save a bunch of money by not covering the whole floor and wasting material. I saw the strip idea in an article and I have forgotten where I came across it.
