F1 battery location

Hello, I'm running into a problem trying to find space for my battery, I'm using a 5.0, and it would be tight placing the battery in the original location, I would for sure need to use some thermal protection. I also don't like the idea of placing it in a visable location like the box. Wondering where others may have found a safe place for their battery, other than under the hood.

I put the battery in my 48 under the cab in a drop down box. It is not fun to get it up there but it is out of the way. Now all that I have to do if figure out how I want to run the exhaust and build that system.

Personally I'd be putting it under the cab, loads of room down there and out of sight. It wouldn't be hard to make a bracket to bolt to the chassis rail. Many cars up until the 40s had their batteries under the floor boards.

I have mine on the firewall where the hinge used to bolt since I reversed the tilt. I have seen one on here where they cut into the inner fender and made a battery space. You might try searching for that.

Thanks guys, I spent some time today going over these options and really any available space. I'm concerned puting it above the exhaust only because it would be difficult to get to, especially if something went wrong on ther road (since I wouldn't want to get burnt by the exhaust pipe). I'm thinking of placing it right behind the cab, passenger side on the outside of the frame rail in front of the rear tire. The only problem I see with this option is that it would require a skinny battery, so now I'll have to search to see how feasable that would be.
