G' day Fellow F.T.E.'s,
does anyone have some Pics that they could send to Me or Post on F.T.E. of what A '66 Ranger Centre Console looks like ???, Cheers Graeme...
The '65-'66 Ranger console is the same one used in '64-'65 (US) Falcon Sprints. Your Falcons were pretty similar to ours back in the day, maybe yours had a similar console. The Ranger seats are '65-'66 Mustang.
Here's a couple of pictures of what was found in a 65 Ranger.

Due to the different shapes of the floor pans transmission humps, the '65/66 Ranger console base (C5TZ-81045A36- ) is different than the '64/65 Falcon Sprint console base (C4DZ or C5DZ-63045A36- ).
Everything else is the same. I omitted the suffixes from the part numbers on purpose as there are too many to list.
Suffixes denote the different colors, 3 for the Rangers, 6 for the '64 Sprint, 6 different colors for the '65 Sprint! That's 15 different 3 lettered suffixes.
Some of these console parts are reproduced (but not the bases), available from dearbornclassics.com located in Bend Oregon.

I believe Dearborn Classics has been bought out and has moved. I just received a catalog from Eckler's Dearborn Classics and the address is now Titusville, Florida. I wonder if they took over some old NASA facilities.
This is the interior of the F100XL drag truck from 1963. IMHO this was an early prototype for the Ranger interior package. Supposedly it was possible to order a "drag track" in 1964. There no documentation that any were built other than A/FX competition trucks built in 1963 based on uni-bodies. Anyway these trucks used the very early Falcon console.
Sorry, my eyes are playing tricks. I could have sworn the header for this topic was "64 Ranger Console" anyway this is what Ford did in 1963.
F-ONE,
What an interesting rear window. Was that something available the first years of Slicks or special to this particular truck? Do you have a pic showing the whole truck? Thanks for the post.
Your first picture posted today of the F100 has a console with the top cover from a 64-65 Mercury Comet. When I re-did my white 65 last year I almost threw away the trim piece for the top cover. It would have been fun trying to find another one!
IICAP, the picture you are looking at is a unibody truck with the optional big rear window.
Interesting that the lid for the console, in both the brochure and in the picture of the real truck, does seem to use a different trim piece than on the 1966 console. Sort of a rectangle it looks like there, but the 1966 Ranger console lid used one strip from front to back down the middle. You can see an example in the 3rd picture down in the brochure here. And, my truck uses the same single strip.

That almost looks like a black lid that was painted red and the red is wearing off. I wonder if the lid was original to that console? The top of the lid should be done in the same material as the seats themselves, whereas the rest of the console is a hard plastic shell.
I noticed BillW (the other Bill) posted the same photos before.
