Look at the picture of the gas tank cover in post #18 and you can see snaps above the cover and below the window opening. Here's another picture with the cover removed.
Question was whether or not the snaps should be there. I contend they shouldn't be there and were owner added. They actually wore the tops on the seatbacks through.
There are also holes above the window and down both sides where more snaps had been screwed in and they were in a bag of hardware bits that I got.
I forgot to ask Max during our short time together and haven't talked to him yet since.
I also pulled the windshield. Seal was dry as a bone and cracked as bad as I could imagine. Windshield had already been replaced and had two big rock dings in it so I wasn't too careful removing it and it cracked at little. Trim and clips came off fine. Cleaned up the channel and don't see any rust. Loving this California body.
Too bad Max did sand on it some and then lost interest in favor of a.....VW. So the hood, front fenders, roof and part of the doors have rusted. He did prime the passengers fender just enough so it sanded off reasonably clean, but the other parts...it needs a good blasting.
Still don't see any rust through.

No comments about the snaps? I'm going with the assumption that they were added.
For whatever reason, when they transplanted the engine they moved the tag from one to the other. I'll put this back on the 352 when it goes back in. One less thing to think about.
I pulled door inners apart. Vent windows, side windows, regulators, remote controls...even the Custom Cab emblems are off.

Here's some scans from a 1966 Ford Pickup Trucks brochure. I won't show every page, just a few favorites. The pickup on the front page has California black plates. S27395
A nice interior all decked out. Same bench seat as both of my 4x4 trucks had/have.
Here's a more vanilla, but nice, interior and then the Ranger interior. Can't see any snaps around the back window in this picture, either.
And a few shots of the bed and tailgate details. You can see proper coloring of the main hardware, which is great. Lots of silver cadmium. Oh, and the back bumper.

16) 376378-S101 .. Screw-oval head cross recess / #8 -32 x 3/8" long.
SoCal long favored by automakers to shoot commercials, sales brochure pics.
Gnarly old oak trees pictured in top pic in post 33: Looks like the Santa Inez Valley, well known for Santa Inez Mission, Danish town of Solvang, Mattei's Tavern, horse farms, dude ranches and winery's.
For an example, google: Intrepid Farms / A few miles east of this farm is where Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch was located.

Watch out for these brochures! Ford was a master of doctoring photos! Notice the "innie caps" on the exact same truck? Chances are this was a pre production '66 or '65 with drawn in new features. This ebay literature claims its an F 250 which is incorrect. The next page in the brochure shows a blue F 250 with "galaxie type" hubcaps.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Ford-Econoline-F-250-Pickup-Truck-SuperVan-Wire-Photo-/300803165926?pt=Art_Photo_Images&hash=item4609440ee6

Here's a closeup of a typical screw hole in the carpet on this truck. No eyelets at all and no sign there was any. Interesting.

Thanks for the warning. When I was at Max's house we looked all over for the original hubcaps but just couldn't find them. He said they were "burnished", which I took to mean the stainless steel, so I was disappointed they were not there. So, after I saw HillBillyBuddha talking about his stainless steel innie caps in that other thread I asked him if he wanted to sell them and he did. Got them today (thanks dude!). These should make a nice addition.
OK, so here's some of the old 352. Dates on things. It looks like most of the big pieces are there. No 2 barrel AutoLite 2100, unfortunately.

I'm glad one of us will get to use them. Anyway, the day after I received the money, I found a pair of Hooker Headers at the Pick n Pull and didn't have to justify the cash to buy them. Win / Win it would seem.

Those snaps are there to mount the 'crawl curtain' between the cab and camper. Back window of the cab is removed as well as the front window or door to the camper. Curtain is attached to seal it off from the outside elements. I've had a few campers... ;o) SOME ONE needs to be in the camper to pass forward the sandwiches. On most early model truck, the windows were small and adding a sliding window, wasn't much of an idea since it would be too small to crawl through. Newer trucks had a much bigger window for the added sliding window to seal off the elements during bad weather. Bigger cab rear windows allowed you to have that slider and still crawl cab/camper.
Unless you plan on using a camper again - good idea to just remove the snaps. Even thought the camper stretches out over the cab roof, if you hit heavy rain, it still blows back between the cab roof and camper overhang, AND still manages to leak through the curtain. Nothing perfect...
